::Ik had vandaag een Symposium in het Hubrecht instituut. Heel goed bereikbaar met auto. Goede locatie. Vriendelijk personeel. Ziet er heel mooi en netjes uit.

::I had the experience of beginning an MA (Cultural History of Modern Europe) which was to lead to a PhD at this place. Some of the professors (not all but quite a few) were extremely rude, arrogant, and unprofessional. I discovered that some of those professors gossiped about students (to other members of staff and to other students) Those qualities also applied to many of the students. They did not seem to like anyone over the age of 25. Also, I could not get over the hypocrisy in that place. The students were social justice warriors but were also narrow minded and elitists. My other complaint is that the university only cares about getting your money and ripping you off is the name of their game. You can do A LOT better than this place.

::Утрехтский университет ( UNIVERSITEIT UTRECHT ) является одним из старейших в Нидерландах и одним из крупнейших в Европе. Ранее , в 1634 году, была основана латинская школа Illustere School. Уже через два года её статус был повышен до университета и в марте 1636 года состоялось его официальное открытие. В XVII веке университет процветал, несмотря на конкуренцию с Лейденским, Гронингемским и Амстердамским университетами. В настоящее время в университете 7 факультетов, 30 000 студентов, а также ряд научных институтов. Университетские здания находятся в разных частях города. Главное и самое старое здание находится на площади Dom. Его старейшие фрагменты относятся к 1461 году. Университетская библиотека с 1817 года занимает бывший дворец короля Людовика Бонапарта и требует отдельного внимания и восторженного описания. В Университете Утрехта учились и работали 12 лауреатов Нобелевской премии. Рекомендую посетить не только абитуриентам и их родителям. Рекомендую всем ! И даже , если Вы просто летите транзитом через Амстердам и у вас есть свободных 3-4 часа, - съездите обязательно. От аэропорта Схипхол (Амстердам) до Университета Утрехта всего 48 км.
