  Whenever looking for a book or magazine in English or one with an American publisher, I head for either my "home store" in The Hague or the one in Amsterdam where there is a much larger selection of books and magazines. Don't miss perusing the out-of- date magazines in the little back room (next to new magazine room) for earlier editions of art, fashion, & news magazines. The physical environment in both stores is plain and simple but the staff are always helpful when asked--thank God, no hovering staff pressuring you to buy!

  One of my favourite bookstores in the world. Great selection, helpful and friendly staff, and it’s in the heart of Spui. Make sure you get a coffee and something to smoke after you make your purchase and find a nice spot outside to read your new purchases. Also, if you time it right, you’ll go the same day as the art market outside in Spui.

  Belle librairie à deux pas du béguinage. Tous les livres sont en anglais et sont bien classés par thématique. Beaucoup d’auteurs hollandais traduits. Idéal pour faire une petite pause pendant la découverte de la ville.

  Everyone knows that this is the place you can find, or order any book your heart desires. They have so many different kinds of books, and the people that work there are absolutely wonderful. They are so helpful and will stop at nothing until they help you find what you are looking for. There has been several times when I needed a book, but they didn't have it, but all I had to do was give them the name of the book, my name, and my phone number, and they would have it delivered within a few days to a week. Even if you can't visit their store to order your book, they are very happy to help you via telephone :)

  Very big place. I wasn't able to find the book I was looking for right of the bet, so I asked the young receptionist and she kindly helped me get directions. I believe the letters for finding a book should be bigger, because it wasn't noticeable. But after having the hang of it you can find it easily. It has 3 floors and a very real area where you can sit relax and drink coffee. He had a really big reading area so I can only assume that hey hold workshops there. A very great place that needs some exploring. Only down side is. 10% discount isn't even a euro from the original price. If you want to give a discount try 40% to returnees. And maybe other actions like return a book and get 50% discount on your next book. I bought a book for school but after 3 weeks I really won't need it anymore and it isn't that good of a book. I rather wanted another book but spend 10 euros on this one. Waste of money if you ask me. I saw a really cool book but didn't had enough anymore to buy it.
