  Worth knowing that they have an after-hours collection service. They give you a number, you enter it into a machine that then dispenses your medicines.

  I was prescribed a drug by my gp and I asked this pharmacy to send the prescription to their other branch, which is closer to me. Not only did it take me 2 days to get them transfer the prescription, but they sent the bill to my insurance twice, and when I told them that it was obviously their mistake and I only got one pack they told me there’s nothing they can do about it. The coldness and complete absence of empathy is staggering. Avoid this pharmacy if you can!

  Situated on Rozengracht, the Jordaan's major thoroughfare, Benu is one of the pharmacies serving the 9 streets area. In addition to supplying prescriptions, the pharmacy offers over the counter medicines, creams, ointments, dental hygiene products, eye drops and sugar-free sweets. It can often get busy, so be prepared to queue. There is a weekly walk-in consultation hour every Friday morning at 10 AM for questions concerning medication. If a prescription cannot be immediately fulfilled, it can be collected later, or if registered with Benu, prescriptions can be delivered to a home address, or use made of the 24 hour collection dispenser. When Benu is closed, an illuminated map shows the closest open pharmacy and provides telephone numbers for urgent assistance.

  They were very fast and helpful. I had due to forgetting my medicine before I departed on vacation. I simply saw a local doctor, same day, and the staff here promptly filled my prescription. Thank you very much. My vacation would have been really difficult without my medication.
