This place is awesome, musicians can really nerd out here but I think there's still loads for the general population as well. We travelled from Amsterdam to go here. The tours are good, they'll play some of the music boxes during them.

This tour was so much more than I thought it would be. We happened to stop in 15 min before a tour was starting so we wandered around a little until the tour started. I was blown away by some of the stuff they have here and it was very fascinating watching the old clocks and instruments work, seeing how they operated and the beautiful sounds that came out of the great devices! Seriously worth the tour. If you take part in the tour you get to watch and listen to the instruments/clocks being played rather than just seeing them. So worth the stop in.

This museum is great for people who: would like to know how many types of clocks work and how they were developed, would like to know some Dutch history or who just want an enjoyable experience about a musical culture that is rarely seen these days. The guide was very knowledgeable, fun and demonstrated a large selection of the exhibition. Together with the other parts of the museum, such as the interactive media presentation, there is enough to enjoy for at least a couple of hours.

The museum contained an amazing collection of instruments, clocks and machines, with interesting descriptions of everything there. The tour, led by Guido, demonstrated a variety of everything housed there, and was presented with much enthusiasm, and even catered for those of us who only spoke English. It was absolutely amazing to see how many of these wonderful machines are still in good working order. While we didn't bring kids, it was obvious that all the children visiting were just as enthralled as the parents. Definitely highly recommended!
