An interesting place, I'm still sorting out my feelings. The breakfast buffet was elegant but designed to offer lighter fare, problematic for people like me who start the day with a hearty meal. Our room was like living inside an art exhibit: austere white, odd enclaves, low lighting, quirky furnishings, no night stands, curtains or shower curtain. Curious to look at, not very practical to live in, but it was only for a few days. It was warm, clean & dry so it served its purpose.

Love the quirkiness of this place. Sublime idea to mix "hotel" with "cultural centre"! And they do it well! Drop in for a coffee in the foyer or stay in one if the many non standard rooms.

Well, the place looks stunning and the service seems to be willing, but placing a group of people on the huge reading table in what seemed to be outside chairs was a bad idea. Luckily some people were willing to move seats so we could put some tables together so we could have a more intimate setting. More unfortunate was the question "who wants meat, who wants fish" to be served some sort of vegetarian dish instead (because there was one vegetarian in the group of 10)... It was especially unfortunate because we all thought that it was a starter meal, not the main course. Anyway, things like this can happen. I will definitely try them out again (but, not with a group)

Possibly the worst hotel I've ever stayed in across Europe and America. We had to stay here for the last 4 nights of our trip as the apartment we were staying at had all its pipes frozen due to bad weather. The hotel is described as quirky but mostly looks like all the furniture has been taken out of the local dump. Its dirty and smells awful. Gave us a baby bed for my 5mo that had blood and other nasty stuff on it so I had to bleach the whole thing and I still didn't want to put her in it. As far as laundry goes the sinks don't have stoppers so washing baby clothes etc was difficult so we asked about a laundry service which cost us 22€ for two or three baby tops two pairs of baby pjs and about 8 bibs. Most of the stuff came back unusable as they shrunk her clothes and melted all her bibs. This is strange since I've been washing them and using the drier for the last five months and had no problems. They said this was our fault and didn't even want to help us in any way. They also decided that the best room for a family with a young baby is right beside the door where all the staff go in and out to smoke 24hrs a day. Also think it's a good time to vacuum all the halls at 10-11pm??? Strange. The history of the building is interesting but that's about it.

The 5 star rooms are expensive (ca. 190 Euros/night) and not worth the money. Not overly clean, not much luxury and breakfast not included. However, staff is super friendly, breakfast (if bought) is good and the hotel is quirky and special. Maybe get a 3 star room or even less but don't expect the 5 stars to live up to expectations. Both photos are 5 star rooms (we were moved because they messed up bookings)
