  De Laatste Kruimel: Breakfast at the Bakery in Amsterdam With two vitrines loaded with cakes and pies, a counter with a hundred colors, paintings and drawings, fridges and a kitchen, Alice in wonderland would have called this place home. Music playing in the background, happy people having their morning coffee... I chose a selection of four cakes and sat to enjoy them. Inside, a chef prepares the quiches and tarts in front of customers. It seems good safety measures are not a priority in Amsterdam. No gloves and no separation between the kitchen and the walking clients, looking at him working is close to disgusting. Spilling sauce on the couches, you don’t want to be the next customer to sit on them. I loved the vibes but can’t say the same about the food. The chocolate cake is dry, the lemon poppy seed cake is even drier, the bread pudding is unappetizing and too complicated but the zucchini lemon cake is good. I enjoyed my coffee and continued my discoveries around the city. I’m not sure how I ended up here; this place is deceiving.

  We come here every time we are in Amsterdam. From the front windows you can see all their food from savory to sweet. It's all made fresh in their kitchen. It's a tiny little place with cozy homey interior. There is a great outside canal seating in the back where I have my kids eat their food while we sit inside. I love the back round corner table with a view of the canal. This is one of my favorite spots in Amsterdam.

  Wir kamen 2016 dort zufällig vorbei und haben uns spontan entschieden, uns etwas Gebäck auf dem kleinen Balkon zu genehmigen. Wenn die Sonne scheint, ist das wirklich ein kleines schönes Plätzchen zum Sitzen :). Das Personal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit (wir hatten eine kleine Wachsfigur, die wir während unserem Aufenthalt in der Bäckerei in den Kühlschrank stellen durften, damit sie nicht schmilzt). Das Gebäck war völlig neu für uns aber sehr lecker. Beim nächsten Amsterdam-Urlaub werden wir auf jeden Fall wieder dort vorbei kommen.
