::Last visit: 2019-12-11 I've eaten lunch here before with a group so arranged a reservation - but on this visit I felt the service was a bit shambolic. A waitress popped over to take drinks orders with no drinks menu (I didn't know what was on offer) and then after returning with a drinks list didn't hang around to take orders... leaving another waitress to bring over drinks that HAD been ordered and took further orders, meaning we had to wait for those before anyone brought over food menus. All of this seemed to delay the meal; it was a good 20 mins before we'd actually managed to place any food orders... why not just leave menus on the table or bring them over upon entry? Why make diners sit and wait, or have to ask for them? The meals, when finally arriving, were somewhat mixed. I enjoyed the onion soup, thick with a crusty layer of cheese and croutons atop, but one of my party commented they found their croquettes slightly burned and dry. We returned later that week and encountered a similar service: waitresses again expected diners to know what drinks were available without offering any menus. The sandwich of the day (prawns) wasn't bad but not huge on the plate and was an open sandwich (amounted to a few prawns with salad atop bread) so we ended up ordering bowls of chips to pad the meal out. Although the service was slightly quicker this time, there still seemed to be a somewhat languid approach to getting orders in and food out. It's worth a visit, but don't go there hungry - you won't like the wait, and if you've only got an hour for lunch you'll be late back. For lunch on the next two days, we went elsewhere - and our alternative choice (Marcella) did a much better job; I'll take some convincing to return here again.
